Bayou Barn Cajun Canoe & Kayak Swamp Tours
Note: The waterways in the Jean Lafitte National Park & Preserve are currently IMPASSABLE due to heavy growth of aquatic vegetation.
We are unable to rent canoes or kayaks for trips into the NHP. Please call before making a trip out to canoe or kayak.
We offer a unique and exciting adventure while in the New Orleans area. In conjunction with the Jean Lafitte Historical National Park, we offer ranger guided and self guided tours of the SWAMP and MARSH areas of southern Louisiana.
Located approximately 1/2 a mile from the National Historical Park and Preserve at 7145 Barataria Blvd (Highway 45) in Crown Point, LA, Bayou Barn has everything you need to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Barataria Unit firsthand. Once within the boundaries of the Park, you will paddle Bayou des Familles, made famous by the Pirate Jean Lafitte.
From your canoe, Alligators, snakes, native birds, egrets, nutria, wild pigs and thousands of other creatures and wildlife can be viewed in their own habitat.
Bayou Barn makes it easy to take a leisurely trip down the smooth waterways, renting canoes and kayaks as well as offering shuttle services to and from the put-ins. Each rental includes two life jackets and paddles. The daily rental rate includes delivery to the park, with advance notice.
Reservations are required for Canoe and Kayak rentals. Advance payment is recommended as we rent boats on a first come first serve basis, unless advance payment is made.
We offer group discounts! How about getting a group of your friends together to explore the park's bayous? Special rates are available for groups of 10 (five boats) or more. And if you're the one who organizes the group, your boat is free! Reservations and advance payment is required. Senior citizen discounts (10 percent off) are available on all day rentals.
